2 AUDIO CLASSES APPEARED AT ATYRAU SPECIAL BOARDING SCHOOL

04.03.2021

120 children aged 3 to 18 years from different districts of the Atyrau oblast study and live in the Oblast Special Boarding School. These are children who are deaf from birth or who lost their hearing at a later age, most of whom have disabilities.

AYALA Charity Foundation, with sponsorship from ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc. , donated two modern Uniton Forte audio classrooms with interactive panels to this boarding school. The total budget of the project was 9.3 million tenge.

Akmaral Sabirova, ExxonMobil Public Relations Advisor notes: “Healthcare is one of the priority areas for our company’s social projects. By improving the quality of medical care, we help people maintain the most important thing in life – health. ExxonMobil plans to continue to collaborate with AYALA Charity Foundation and the oblast health department to provide assistance to medical Centres of the regions. We hope that the company’s investments in healthcare will have a tangible positive effect on the health and well-being of the population of the Atyrau oblast .”

The audio class ensures the formation of a complete auditory-speech environment during classes. Student workstations are equipped with remote controls with a built-in microphone. The teacher can move freely around the classroom during a lesson thanks to a radio microphone.

Through the student’s panel, clear and high-quality sound is transmitted to his hearing aid or headphones from the teacher’s microphone, from the microphone of his own remote control and the microphones of the remote controls of all other students in the class.

The teacher’s control panel allows him to select the presentation of material in lesson mode, lecture mode, poll students from their seats, and also highlight the teacher’s voice for students from the background noise of the class.

“We teach children mainly from low-income and large families, as well as those under guardianship. 50 of our students come from remote areas of the Atyrau oblast. We do everything possible to create all the conditions for their development, study and social adaptation for our students. That’s why we have activity clubs and a football sports section. Thanks to the help of AYALA Foundation, we now have state-of-the-art audio classrooms. They will allow us to conduct lessons on the development of auditory perception, on the formation of pronunciation, and will help us to cover all our students with effective teaching methods. This is a great and very valuable gift, so on behalf of the entire team I thank the ExxonMobil representative office for it,” commented Fatima Musaevna Baimukhanova, director of the boarding school.

The AYALA Foundation donated audio classes as part of the Special Attention to Special Children project. This project helps equip remedial boarding schools and psychological and pedagogical correction rooms throughout Kazakhstan with special equipment to improve children’s hearing, vision, attention, and to help develop intelligence.

Since 2007, this project has covered more than 50 thousand children in 20 cities of Kazakhstan. The Foundation installed 19 therapy exercise rooms, equipped 19 sensory rooms and 5 Montessori rooms, equipped 3 audio classes in Atyrau and Petropavlovsk, supplied correctional speech therapy equipment, a TOMATIS unit and many other units necessary for promoting the health and comprehensive development of children with special educational needs.
