The Astana Marathon has been held in the capital since 2015. Since that time, our AYALA Foundation has been the main beneficiary of the participation of employees of large Kazakhstani companies in it.

For 5 years, the foundation’s collections through Astana Marathon exceeded 13.8 million tenge.

Several charity projects were implemented there. Two sensory rooms have appeared in the Children’s Hospital No. 2 of the city of Nur-Sultan and in the oblast Children’s Home of the Akmola oblast in the city of Akkol. The National Centre for Motherhood and Childhood (Nur-Sultan) purchased a therapeutic hypothermia unit to save the lives and intelligence of children born with asphyxia. An audiometer was donated to a special boarding school for children with hearing impairments in the city of Karaganda. And in the capital’s psychological and learning disability office No. 1, children with special needs (cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual development delays) began to receive correctional development using the TOMATIS unit.

This year, proceeds from participation in the Astana Marathon are aimed at saving the health and intelligence of newborn children in the West Kazakhstan oblast. In the oblast Perinatal Centre of Uralsk, almost 13 thousand children are born annually, about 7% of them are premature. The Centre staff note an increase in the incidence of jaundice in newborns.

We thank the companies KAMKOR and PTC Holding for participation in the Astana Marathon. Using Foundations from their corporate participation fees, we will purchase and donate 4 phototherapy lamps to this perinatal Centre. They will help healthcare workers save the intelligence and health of newborns!
