Our Foundation helps Samsung company implement a very important social project. With the sponsorship of this company, we provide monthly assistance to 40 veterans in Almaty with food baskets and medicines.

One of them is Ivan Ivanovich Roldugin. Ivan Ivanovich is 93 years old now. He is a professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences. He has traveled all over Kazakhstan for research expeditions and adores mountains. Thanks to him and other activists, the felling of the Tien Shan forests was canceled in due time. Ivan Ivanovich is sure that “travelers perceive the world differently, therefore they take care of Mother Nature more tenderly.”

At 93, he walks and even prepares a wonderful soup himself, which he treats to our coordinator, Alzhan Kusainova, who shared his story with us. He also plays mandolin, balalaika, and guitar. Paints pictures and writes verses. Ivan Ivanovich is a wonderful, cheerful, smiling man. He doesn’t complain about his sores and recalls his difficult past with warmth and gratitude.
