The finalists’ projects covered a wide range of fields, from medicine and agronomy to education and robotics.
On August 20, the final of the annual national Samsung Solve For Tomorrow 2025 startup competition was held at the Bibigul Tulegenova Creative School. During the event, 10 teams composed of talented and ambitious schoolchildren from across Kazakhstan presented their innovative projects aimed at addressing pressing social issues. AYALA Charity Foundation is a partner of the initiative.
This year’s Solve For Tomorrow competition is being held for the fifth time in Kazakhstan. A record number of teams applied to participate this year — over 3,400 participants from across the country submitted 992 ideas aimed at addressing contemporary challenges. The participants were tasked with developing a solution to a pressing social problem using science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Following a rigorous selection process, 32 teams have been selected for the semifinals, who attended a special design thinking mentor session in Almaty on June 16. After completing all mentoring sessions, the top 10 teams from across Kazakhstan were selected for the final round, who were able to enhance and refine their projects.
The results of many months of hard work were announced in Astana, where each team pitched their ideas to the jury and received valuable feedback and recommendations after their presentations. An expanded panel of judges, which included experts from QazInnovations, NURIS, Samsung Electronics, and other organizations, evaluated the students’ projects.
Following a thorough review of the final projects and participant presentations, the jury selected the three strongest teams to award the top prizes:
Additionally, all finalist teams received certificates worth 300,000 tenge, which they can also use for further project development, as many past finalists have done by scaling their ideas into production.
“For five years, Solve For Tomorrow has been enabling like-minded individuals across Kazakhstan to start making the world better. In our country, the project breaks application records every year, allowing students, even from the most remote villages, to gain necessary knowledge and experience in STEM education. We are confident that this year’s projects will not only improve our society but also will become an inspiration for Kazakh teenagers, showing how they can bring their world-changing ideas to life,» Berik Umarov, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Central Eurasia, said.
In future, the winners and finalists will receive comprehensive support from Samsung Electronics and partner organizations in development of their projects, helping them advance to the next stage. For more details about the project, please visit the official website: solvefortomorrow.kz.
