The AYALA Charity Foundation purchased and donated food to 200 low-income families in Karaganda for the New Year. The food baskets have been purchased with the sponsorship of CUMMINS Kazakhstan.
“The Power of Caring” is the name of the event that the AYALA Charity Foundation is holding this December. It is aimed at helping Kazakhstani families who find themselves in a difficult life situation due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic with food for the New Year’s table.
“We received a grant from CUMMINS on December 21 and immediately rushed to do everything possible to ensure that 200 families in Karaganda received food for the New Year. We tried to include traditional food in our basket that is usually prepared for this holiday. We also added fresh vegetables, apples, dairy and fermented milk products, eggs, fresh chicken, canned meat and vegetables, sweets and cookies. In total, our basket included 23 items, including detergents and diapers for children. According to our estimation, this basket should be enough for each family for 1-2 weeks. The main challenge was ensuring fast delivery because we have a lot of perishable products in our basket. Also, the responsive Karaganda residents came to our aid. Volunteers helped quickly pack all 200 boxes and allocated 11 free trucks, which then delivered boxes of food to each family on Saturday and Sunday — the weekend! This was the real Power of Caring from Kazakhstanis! It’s great that people who especially needed it could feel it. And we sincerely thank the responsive residents of Karaganda for this,” noted Aidan Suleimenova, President of the AYALA Foundation.
The AYALA Charity Foundation held 10 events in December. Most of them are related to food assistance to low-income families. In Almaty, with the support of Mamma Mia Group, about 100 families received a 50-kilogram bag of flour. Producer of the 3 Desires line, Eurasian Food Corporation, joined this campaign. Thanks to this, along with flour, families received sets with vegetable and butter oils, mayonnaise, salad sauces, and condensed milk More than 40 low-income families in the Turksib district of Almaty received a food basket with sweet gifts for children, thanks to the support of customers of the #SaksFifthAvenue store. And Oriflame has allocated funds to add a sweet gift for each child from these families. In Nur-Sultan, ATF Bank clients provided food for the New Year’s table to 15 low-income families raising children with disabilities.
Obviously, this is quite a busy period for the charity foundation. But it is precisely this that allows you to very acutely feel how many sympathetic people live in Kazakhstan, ready to direct their Power of Caring to good deeds.
