Samsung Innovation Campus awarded the first graduates of a free course on learning the basics of the C language and working with microcomputers using Arduino as an example.
And for the first time, out of 9 students of the course, 8 projects were defended by girls — high school students from gymnasiums No. 134, No. 120, as well as students of KazNTU named after Satpayev and Suleyman Demirel University!
From November to March, students of the course studied for 2 hours twice a week. During this time, they learned to create and program a variety of Arduino-based units, work with various breadboards, motors, sensors and other automated elements that were provided for training by Samsung.
The finalists presented 8 projects for defense, from a programmed amusement park and a “smart home” to an automatic soap dispenser and an automated hand.
Victoria Derevnina took first place with her “Amusement Park” project. The girl created and programmed the layout of controlled mini-attractions in the amusement park on her own. Victoria dreams of enrolling in the robotics department at one of the leading universities in the European Union and connecting her future professional life with this area.
Second place went to Zhaniya Kalzhan with the “Smart Home” project — the girl is studying to be an architect at KazNTU and in her work combined the development of the skill of architectural solutions with the use of modern IT technologies for a safe, comfortable, controlled space.
Third place went to sisters Fatima and Medina Maysar with their project “Dog Feeder” — the girls were inspired by automated feeders for stray animals installed in Istanbul.
4th place went to Nazia Zhanabaeva with the “Smart Basket” project, which opens itself when receiving garbage. 5th place went to Nargiz Kanieva with the “Robotic Arm” project, which was very complex from a programming point of view. 6th place went to Alfia Zharlykasyn with the project “Automatic Soap Dispenser”.
All graduates of this course received a certificate from Samsung Innovation Campus and valuable prizes from Samsung!
We wish them further success in programming and in studying at IT courses!
