Leading practicing orthopedic surgeon at Busan National University Hospital (BPNU), Professor Zhong Sub Lee, provided free consultations to 28 children with various orthopedic diseases during his next visit to Almaty at the invitation of the AYALA Foundation.

For 3 days, Professor Lee received at the University Clinic No. 1 of KazNMU named after Asfendiyarov (formerly Aksai Children’s Hospital) the children with congenital torticollis, bone cyst, shortened femur and other diseases. Together with the doctors of this clinic, he also examined young patients who were being treated there.

Professor Lee works as the head of the Spine Centre and the head of the orthopedics department of the BNUH. He is also the ambassador of our Foundation. In August of this year, with the support of Chevron, our Foundation sent two orthopedic surgeons from University Clinic No. 1 to him for training. Within 2 weeks they saw numerous and varied operations on the spine, on the hip joint, micro-surgeries on the lower extremities, and muscle transplants. This two-week practice helped them take orthopedic surgeries in Kazakhstan to a whole new level thanks to the introduction of modern techniques that they learned at the BNUH.
