Professor of the Busan National University Hospital Lee Jong Seop provided a free consultation for 18 children at the Multidisciplinary City Children’s Hospital No. 2 in Astana.
Professor Li’s consultations lasted for several hours and ended in the late evening. One teenager had very severe scoliosis. Other patients were diagnosed with spina bifida. This is a complex congenital defect of the spinal cord and spine, a type of open neural tube defect which has an abnormal development of the back parts of the spine, spinal cord, surrounding nerves and/or the fluid-filled sac that surrounds the spinal cord. Professor Lee also conducted a master class for pediatric orthopedic doctors at this hospital.
We express our deep appreciation to Professor Lee for the time, attention and knowledge he shared with Kazakhstani patients and doctors. We wish you good health and all the best!
