Thanks to the support of Cummins Kazakhstan, AYALA Foundation equipped 2 workshops in the Tansholpan orphanage in Karaganda.

63 children left without parental care live there. Students from grades 5-11 will be able to undergo training in sewing and carpentry workshops using new equipment and under the guidance of experienced teachers.

The sewing workshop is fully equipped with the most essential modern equipment: 5 sewing machines, 2 overlockers, 3 ironing boards and 3 irons, vertical steamer, steam generator, vacuum cleaner.

To create comfortable training conditions, 8 tables and a wall cabinet for storing equipment, materials and sewing accessories were specially made to order. There is also a fitting room with a mirror, a carpet, a sofa and a screen — in general, everything for girls to learn to sew with pleasure.

“In our workshop, sewing training begins in the fifth grade and continues until the eleventh. First, girls learn to cut and sew simple things: scarves, aprons, towels. Gradually they move on to more complex tasks, including sewing bed linen and outerwear. We thank from the bottom of our hearts for such a wonderful gift to our children. I am sure that for some pupils this will become the basis of their future profession or even their own business,” commented Amirkhanov Serik Eltaevich, director of the Tansholpan orphanage.

The carpentry workshop also has everything you need: machines, hacksaws, hammers, measuring equipment, drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, a set of equipment for robotics and even a 3D printer along with several kilograms of plastic to learn how to make objects useful for the institution.

The total cost of equipment donated to 2 workshops was 4,552,523 tenge.
