In Karaganda, in an orphanage for children with developmental disabilities, a room for conducting culinary master classes and classes on general household management has appeared. Look how cozy and comfortable it turned out!
It has a kitchen set, a wall, chairs and a dining table, a refrigerator, a set of built-in household appliances — oven, hob, microwave, extractor hood, dishwasher.
Children can learn to cook on a slow cooker, using an electric grill, make breakfasts on a sandwich maker and pancake maker, and bake desserts on a waffle iron.
To prepare more complex dishes, there is a manty pressure cooker, a set of frying pans, pots, knives, and kitchen tools. Children will learn to nicely serve cooked dishes and even set a festive table. Three cutlery sets and three sets of cutlery, aprons and various kitchen accessories were purchased especially for this purpose.
“Today we invited guests to show what a useful gift for children was given to us by AYALA Foundation and Cummins Kazakhstan. Our foster children were already able to prepare simple treats. We have everything we need now so they can learn to cook more complex meals for their daily lives. Teachers will work with children in this workshop, and we will invite volunteers to master classes. This will help them gain important and essential skills for life and, perhaps, will be the first step into their future profession in the catering industry,” noted Seisekina Daneker Saulebaevna, director of the Children’s Home for Children with Developmental Disabilities.
The total budget for equipment of this workshop was 4,316,458 tenge. We thank Cummins Kazakhstan for supporting the Career Guidance project.
