AYALA Foundation SENT TWO DOCTORS FOR FREE INTERNSHIP TO SOUTH KOREA

Two doctors from the Oblast Multidisciplinary Hospital of Pavlodar have a two-week free internship in South Korea at the invitation of Busan National University Hospital (BNUH).

The spouses Gabdulgazizov Kuat Mukhametkairovich and Gabdulgazizova Saule Oralkanovna work as doctors at the departments of orthopedics and ophthalmology.

“We are thrilled by the internship; Koreans are very hospitable and friendly. Everything we wanted to see was shown and described to us, we visited operations every day. Thanks a lot to AYALA Foundation for the opportunity to study at this hospital!”

Saule Oralkanovna, an ophthalmologist, was present at an operation to eliminate exotropia in children; took part in the examination of premature newborns, including the diagnosis of retinopathy of prematurity; was at a cataract phacoemulsification operation with IOL implantation, at vitreal surgery for hemophthalmia; retinal detachment, epiretinal membrane, macular rupture, hypotensive surgery for glaucoma. She also had an opportunity to discuss diagnoses and treatment tactics on interesting cases during a visit to hospital professors.

Kuat Mukhametkairovich, an orthopedic surgeon, together with professors of the BNUH discussed the cases of patients with fractures of long tubular bones, familiarized with modern methods of surgical treatment of fractures and deforming osteoarthritis of large joints. Was present at operations for osteosynthesis of fractures of long tubular bones, transpedicular fixation of the spine (TPF). TPF is a surgical procedure to stabilize the vertebrae using implants or pedicle screws. Due to the installation of these screws, the spine receives support and is securely fixed.

Kuat Mukhamedalievich and Saule Oralkanovna received certificates from Busan National University Hospital for completion of professional internship. These doctors will bring all the acquired knowledge with them to Kazakhstan and will use it to help patients in Pavlodar.

AYALA Foundation has been implementing educational programs for Kazakhstani doctors jointly with the BNUH since 2016. We have been selected by this South Korean medical institution as a partner for skills improvement programs for Kazakhstani doctors owing to the maximum transparent work of our Foundation. For 6 years, dozens of specialists from the BNUH have visited children’s hospitals in Kazakhstan and conducted joint free appointments for more than 100 patients.

Our Foundation provides flights and accommodation for doctors from Kazakhstani children’s hospitals in Busan for skills improvement courses. This program helps to share the experience, competence and professionalism of South Korean doctors, whose authority and high level of qualifications attract patients from all over the world to this country.
