The sports celebration continues the Casa Herbalife program, under which the kitchens at both centers were renovated and upgraded.
Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) and AYALA Charity Foundation organized a Fitness Day for 50 children from the Kovcheg and Solnyshko support centers. Instead of conventional workouts and fitness tests, the organizers built the program around fun relay races, active games and team challenges – making sure that every child could participate regardless of their level of physical fitness.
The World Health Organization recommends that children and adolescents aged 5-17 engage in at least 60 minutes of moderate- to high-intensity physical activity each day. For children living in support centers, regular physical activity is not only a matter of physical fitness, but also an important part of social adaptation.
The event was hosted by Herbalife brand ambassador Valikhan Ten, while the sports program was developed by brand’s fitness expert Valeria Nemaya. Rather than focusing on identifying the fastest or strongest participants, the organizers made the goal of Fitness Day to show children that physical activity can be fun, help them make friends and make them feel supported as part of a team.
The AYALA Charity Foundation has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2007. Over the years, the foundation has organized more than 200 events, reaching over 6 000 children through its celebrations and activities. «We hope that after a day like this, the children will return to their studies feeling that an entire team is cheering on them. After events like these, children carry themselves differently and are more willing to take on new challenges. We are grateful to Herbalife for creating meaningful projects for the children at the Solnyshko and Kovcheg centers», said Aidan Suleimenova, Founder and President of the AYALA Foundation.
Previously, as part of the Casa Herbalife program, with the support of Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), professional kitchen equipment was installed at the Kovcheg center, which is a home to 35 children. The equipment included a gas stove, oven, commercial frying pan and work surfaces. A similar kitchen upgrade was carried out at the Solnyshko center. Fitness Day extended this support beyond the kitchen: alongside a focus on nutrition, the children were given an opportunity to stay active and experience the benefits of exercising together as a team.
«For us, it is important that support for children is not limited to a single campaign or project. A healthy lifestyle is built on many things: nutritious food, physical activity, communication, support, and self-confidence. Fitness Day is an opportunity to give children a positive experience and show them that being active is not necessarily about records or competition. Above all, it is about enjoying movement, being part of a team, and having the feeling: ‘I can do it!’ These are the moments we want to create together with our independent partners», said Igor Goncharov, Herbalife Business Development Manager for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The most important outcome of the day was not the seconds on the stopwatch or the places on the leaderboard, but the feeling each child took home: «I can do it!».
The Casa Herbalife program is implemented by the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), established in 1994. The Foundation supports organizations that provide children with nutritious food and a safe environment for their development. Over the course of its work, the Foundation has helped more than 4.5 million children gain access to improved nutrition and programs designed to enhance their living conditions. The total amount of grants awarded has exceeded USD 70 million, supporting 322 organizations in 74 countries.
