AYALA Charitable Foundation organized lectures by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mark Arkadyevich Kurtser, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, when hundreds of Kazakhstani doctors were able to listen to them. The training was implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in October 2023 with the Public Health Department of Almaty.

Mark Arkadyevich Kurtser is known as an innovator and researcher who introduced pre-implantation genetic diagnosis of monogenic diseases in the Russian Federation. He developed organ- and blood-saving treatment methods using endovascular technologies for the delivery of patients with placenta accreta, obstetric hemorrhage, uterine fibroids, and obstetric peritonitis. In 2016, for the first time in Russia, he performed open surgery on a fetus with Spina bifida condition.

The academician’s lectures were devoted to the topical issues that AYALA Foundation is actively working on this year: “Fetal medicine” and “Principles of obstetric tactics for massive bleeding”. During his lecture, Mark Arkadyevich shared his own experience, the latest scientific achievements and strategies used in practice, which generated interest and admiration among the audience that consisted of hundreds of Kazakhstani medical professionals.

“Starting from 2022, the main goal of AYALA Foundation is to reduce disability of children from birth. Over the past 10 years, the number of children with disabilities aged 0 to 18 years in our country has doubled, and now it exceeds 100 thousand children. In terms of Kazakhstan, this is the population of a small town. AYALA Foundation is committed to stop this terrible trend. Therefore, we transfer all funds provided by our partners and sponsors to install special medical equipment in perinatal centers, we focus our efforts on improving qualifications of doctors, obstetrician-gynecologists, ultrasound specialists, and help in the development of fetal surgery in Kazakhstan,” Aidan Suleimenova, the Founder and President of the AYALA Charitable Foundation, noted.

More than 200 specialists and residents attended the lectures of a world-famous invited expert, which were hosted by the Central City Clinical Hospital of Almaty. More than 500 additional listeners from all over Kazakhstan joined the online broadcast on YouTube. The event organized by of AYALA Charitable Foundation provided them with a unique opportunity for sharing expertise and improve their skills with a leading specialist in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in Kazakhstan.
