As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance qualifications of neonatologists and obstetrician-gynaecologists in Kazakhstan, the AYALA Charitable Foundation recently organised a lecture by Professor Mark Kurtzer, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The lecture, held at City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 in Astana, attracted more than 100 doctors from the capital.
Professor Kurtzer, an expert in endovascular and organ-preserving surgical techniques, shared his insights into the management of complex obstetric cases, including placenta accreta, obstetric haemorrhage, uterine myoma, and obstetric peritonitis. His lecture focused on modern surgical tactics for treating placenta accreta after caesarean sections, and his work has been recognised for its ability to preserve organs and reduce blood loss during surgery.
This lecture was part of the AYALA Academy project, which aims to help Kazakhstani doctors advance their professional skills and improve medical care across the country.
